Bord na nÓg Medal Presentation Night – 13th March 2022

On Sunday 13th March we celebrated the achievements of our 2021 Bord na nÓg West champions.

Barry Heffernan, Tipperary Senior Hurler and Éire Óg Nenagh clubman was our invited guest to present the medals to all our West Champions on the night. We had Sean Cleary, Captain of our U19B County Football champions join us and bring the 2021 adult club trophies with him.   We were also delighted to welcome the medal winning players and their family members from Solohead GAA club.

Niall Hayes 2021 outgoing Bord na nÓg Chairman gave a recap on the achievements on the year just passed while incoming Bord na nÓg Chairman Ned Carmody and Club PRO Kathleen Kiely updated those in attendance on some events happening in the club over the next few weeks.  Noel Buckley, Club Chairman had high praise and great comments on the work being done within our Bord na nÓg  over the past number of years.

Barry Heffernan had some great advice for our younger players and presented the medals individually to each recipient.

Medals were presented to the following teams on the night:

  • 2021 West U13D Football Shield winners
  • 2021 West U13A Hurling champions
  • 2021 West U13A Football Shield Winners
  • 2021 West U15A Hurling Champions

Players from the below 2020 winning teams also received their medals on the night

  • 2020 West U12D Hurling Champions
  • 2020 West U16A Hurling Champions

Our U9 Reale Cup (Murroe Tournament) 2021 winners joined us for a photo and we were lucky to have some of our U5s and U7s on hand to keep a close eye on the silverware for us on the night. Our stars of the future who we have no doubt will be stepping up to accept their own medals in the not too distant future.

Thanks to Owen Doody who made sure all had refreshments, to Sean Carmody for the photos and to all who were involved in our celebration night.

Looking forward to 2022 and more success to come.
